We are delighted to have been awarded the ESCAP Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) Asia-Pacific Green Deal Silver badge for 2024, as a testament to our commitment towards sustainability and our efforts in reporting ESG metrics aligned with stakeholders’ needs for consistent, comparable, and shareable data.

To advocate for business leadership in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, ESBN has partnered with Asia’s leading ESG data and technology company STACS to launch the ESBN Asia-Pacific Green Deal for Businesses Program, on STACS’s ESGpedia. By attaining the ESBN Asia-Pacific Green Deal badge, SWM is able to future-proof and be better positioned to leverage on ESG opportunities, strengthening our competitive edge within Singapore and across Asia.

Vince Goh, Executive Director & CEO at SWM, said: “Sustainability is an integral part of being a successful business and we always aim to act in an ethical and responsible way. We are committed to operating in a compliant and transparent manner to improve our recovery rate, reduce yield loss so as to minimize waste, prevent uncontrolled environmental releases and takes proactive actions to safeguard the environment and ultimately reducing our emissions and carbon footprints. Publishing our first-ever Sustainability Report with proper GHG accounting, in partnership with ESGpedia, allows us to accurately quantify and communicate our sustainability efforts to stakeholders as we continue our journey in serving our customers responsibly.”

The jumpoff/ kickoff moment has been exciting and rewarding. Today, we have managed to complete our jumpoff ESG report for our financial year between June 2023 to May 2024. With this ESG report, we would then be able to clearly map out action plans to further manage our carbon footprints through improved technology and business practices, taking us steps closer to mitigating carbon emissions and being more responsible from an ESG perspective.
