International Women’s Day: GIveToGain (IWD2026)

Every year on International Women’s Day, the world pauses to recognize the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across all walks of life. For me, this day is not only about celebration, but also reflection—on how far we have come and the responsibility we carry to shape the future. This year, I had the honor to be invited by ESGpedia to share my thoughts contributing to the campaign theme of “Give to Gain”

Women today stand at the intersection of tradition and transformation. We are leaders in boardrooms, innovators in technology, policymakers shaping nations, entrepreneurs building industries, and caregivers nurturing families and communities. The modern woman no longer fits into a single narrative. Instead, she embodies adaptability, strength, and vision.

Leadership today is not about authority alone—it is about empathy, collaboration, and purpose. Many women bring a leadership style that values listening, inclusivity, and long-term thinking. These qualities are increasingly vital in a world that faces complex global challenges. When women lead, organizations and societies often benefit from broader perspectives and more balanced decision-making.

At the same time, progress should never be mistaken for completion. I am often reminded that around the world, women still face barriers to equal opportunity, representation, and recognition. True advancement requires continuous effort—from governments, organizations, and individuals—to create systems where talent and capability matter more than gender.

One of the most powerful roles women play in modern society is that of catalyst. Women uplift other women, mentor the next generation, and challenge outdated assumptions. When one woman succeeds, she often opens doors for many more.

As we mark International Women’s Day, the message is clear: empowering women is not simply a matter of fairness—it is a catalyst for stronger economies, healthier societies, and more sustainable futures.

The future is not defined by whether women can lead. That question has already been answered. The real question is how much further our world can go when women are empowered to lead fully, boldly, and authentically.
